Jubilee Picnic Hamper

Coronation Chicken Picnic Pasty
Forget sarnies this summer – it’s all about the Coronation Chicken Picnic Pasty! Paired with Squealer Pork Pies and followed by a proper Devon cream tea with Langage Farm clotted cream. Sounds like a picnic dream!
Coronation Chicken Recipe
To celebrate 70 years of our lovely Queen Liz, we’ve put one of the classic British sandwich fillings, and the very recipe developed for her coronation in 1953, into a pasty this summer – inspired, we know! What could be better? Chunks of chicken and succulent sultanas in a creamy curried marinade stuffed into our awesome buttery pastry.
Coronation chicken pasty
As with any new Chunk product, there were various iterations of the Coronation Chicken pasty made before it was perfect, meaning oodles of pasties to try every week (it’s a tough old job!). Simon cooked up numerous marinade concoctions to get the mayo - yogurt balance just right and kept tweaking the spice level before the final recipe was decided. We love it, and it's just as tasty hot or cold.
Chunks of chicken, with succulent sultanas and apricots in a creamy curried mayonnaise with just the right amount of spice to give it a kick 👌

What is a picnic pasty, we hear you say?
A tad smaller than our normal pasties and dwarfed by our giant, this picnic pasty is the perfect size to enjoy with a pork pie and cream tea to wash it down ☕

    Deliciously Devon Hamper
We’re keeping it local with lovely Devon suppliers. Our partners at Langage Farm have given us some of their quality clotted cream from their Jersey cows to top your scones (before the jam, of course – but that’s a discussion for another day!). Strawberry jam comes from Hogsbottom Preserves down the road in Crediton and the Breakfast Tea bags are from Devonshire Tea in Ivybridge.

go on - take a chunk!
