Pies for British Pie Week!

Introducing our newest box selection specially for British Pie week 2021.

The British Pie Awards Selection. 

A fantastic selection box that should suit everyone. 

Steak and Ale - a firm favourite with so many people this recipe. Our recipe is made using the very smooth Otter Head. 5.8% ABV. Award winning, from Patrick and the team at Otter Brewery, just down the road from us. Winner of both silver and bronze pie awards.

Chicken, Leek and Bacon - another favourite. We use both breast and thigh meat in this popular pie. By using thigh meat you get much more flavour in the mix, add in some lovely leeks and some delicious smoked bacon into a creamy sauce.  Winner of many awards including gold and silver pie awards.

The Sheep Pie - a pie that is underestimated - yet when eaten always gets a resounding “mmmm…” 

We call it Sheep as that’s what is in this pie. We use mutton from the moors. 

Full of flavour, mutton has been forgotten about for so long, but now making a comeback with chefs - just because it is so full of natural flavour. (Mutton is from a sheep that is older than 1 year) It is just ideal for a long stew cook for a pie - whereas lamb (a sheep under a year old) being from the younger animal is tender and far better for grilling and roasting.

This pie is the winner of a silver pie award PLUS two other gold awards.

Butternut Squash and Goats Cheese Pie - this vegetarian pie is packed with health boosting butternut squash, sweet spud, red onion then we crumble in creamy goat's cheese, a good source of protein, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals. Butternut squash is a super versatile veg. And has enormously good health benefits as it’s rich in important vitamins, minerals, and disease-fighting antioxidants. Wrapped in our tasty shortcrust pastry - a pie enjoyed cold as well as hot. Winner of a gold pie award - says it all!
