Special Steak & Stout Pie for Wembley

It’s not just in Devon, you’ll find our pies and pasties! Oh no! Not many people know that we've been supplying delicious grub to Club Wembley since 2018 ⚽⚽⚽. You’ll see our Chunk vans motoring up to North West London from time to time with a load of goodies for the iconic stadium.

Find us on the corporate level - level 3. This level is made up of the 3000 boxes and both the East and West Pitch View Restaurants.

If you happen to be visiting then look out for Chunk signs 👆 (we’re pretty hard to miss!). There are a select few bakes always on the menu at Wembley, as well as occasional specials:

 

This year we were asked to come up with a new pie exclusively available there so we’ve teamed up with fellow Devon provider and beverage buffs, Salcombe Brewery, to create something very special. We’ve adapted our award-winning Steak & Ale Pie recipe and we’re using their delicious ISP to really enhance the flavours of the steak and veg.

Our Steak & Ale pie has been a staple for Chunk since the start. We were delighted when it won its first award back in 2008, and it has continued to impress judges and customers over the years. A simple recipe featuring chunks of steak marinated in good brew, some roasted carrot and caramelised red onion, with just the right amount of gravy all wrapped up in our flaky pastry.

Winning England’s Best Porter in 2023, Salcombe Brewery’s Island Street Porter is a carefully crafted, velvety, delicately bitter porter with just a hint of sweetness. Eight different malts combine to suggest dark chocolate, coffee and black cherry. While the aroma pleasingly suggests Black Forest gateau! Sounds so good – we’re off to crack one open now 🍻

The tender chunks of steak are marinated in this wonderful stuff right at the beginning of the pie-making process so there’s plenty of time for the rich flavours to penetrate the meat. The result is a truly mouth-watering pie with a distinct depth!

We’ll be shipping these scrumptious pies up to Wembley this week ahead of the game at the weekend! We can’t wait for club members to get their hands on them.
