November is World Vegan Month, and this year we've got a special a reason to be super excited about it!
While the heritage of pies was all about meat wrapped in pastry, fortunately times times have moved on!
We have been making a totally fab roast veggie pasty for several years, and has been serial award winner. A while back we changed our egg glaze to a pea glaze, which meant our Chunki Roast Veg Pasty went from not just a great choice for veggies, but also now suitable for vegans too.
We are really proud of our Veggie & Vegan range of pies and pasties. In 2020 our Chunki Roast Veg Pasty and our Spicy Jack Pie were winners of GOLD at the Taste of the West Awards. These two awesome vegan products then went on to be head to head...or pie to pasty!, in the Champions Vegan category of the same awards!
A real accolade for us - just pipped at the post by some very tasty vegan chocolate. Well done to Hollychocs of Devizes.
We're always looking out for new and interesting pie recipes, keep an eye on us for 2021. Plus with a team of keen foodies at Chunk, there's always an abundance of ideas...some great and others....well, thats another story!
