Weekly Menu – Pie for every day of the week!
You needn’t get bored eating pastry every day! Here’s how to mix things up and really enjoy all those easy meals.
🥧🥧🥧
If you’ve got a freezer full after you’ve placed an order and you want to know how to use them up but don’t want the same old thing all week then we’re here to save the day!
Monday – Let's kick the week off with a big old plateful of pie and mash! Steak & Ale is a weekday staple and don’t forget the extra gravy if you’re partial to it. If you’re feeling fancy a colcannon is beautiful with the classic meat pies, we've got a cracking recipe here. Best saved for a grey or rainy day 🌧️, this is a true comfort dish - so feel free to switch the days around to fit the weather!
Tuesday – Chicken and Chorizo pasty with a leafy salad. This is the perfect plateful to take into the garden and enjoy in the sun ☀️🍷 with your favourite beverage (it's particularly special with a glass of Spanish red, we’d recommend a Rioja!). The strong flavours in the pasty compliment a simple salad with a zesty dressing and a few fries would be grand if you think you’ll be hungry without!
Wednesday – Steak Pasty! You absolutely can do no wrong with one of our famous steak pasties (have we mentioned all its consecutive Great Taste Awards??!). It makes a brilliant working lunch or grab and go meal. If you’re able to be a bit more leisurely about it then throw some chips in the oven too or plop a bit of coleslaw on the plate for a super supper.
Thursday – Homity Pie with a Bean Salad. This is a good’un! Whip up a tasty bean salad with a can of mixed beans, a simple vinaigrette, some herbs and chopped red onion. This side complements the cheesy, potatoey (is that a word?!) goodness of the humble Homity Pie beautifully. Simple and satisfying!
Friday – Friends over for dinner and drinks to celebrate the weekend? Serve up some squealer pork pies and sausage rolls (make sure you grab some scrumptious veggie spinach and squash rolls too) nestled alongside picky bits like cold meats, cheeses, veg sticks, nuts, crackers and fruit for an easy sharing platter! Then graze to your heart's content (or your stomach has told you it’s time to stop!) while you catch up with your lovely guests.
Saturday – Chicken, Mushroom and Tarragon Pie with roasted carrots and wilted greens. This is another great dish for those dreary days. This wonderful little pie with bags of flavour works wonderfully with some simple veg. Roast some colourful carrots with some shallots, oodles of extra virgin olive oil and a squeeze of runny honey while the pie cooks and wilt your favourite green veg (think spinach, kale, spring greens, cabbage) with a generous knob of butter and a pinch of sea salt. Here, you’ve got yourself a winner of a dinner!
Sunday – Sunday Funday is here which means it’s time for a Cheddar & Onion Pasty with lashings of crispy fries. Whip up a creamy dip if you’re feeling extra and enjoy this simple but incredibly satisfying dish. Note: if you're a traditionalist and must have a roast dinner on a Sunday then you're allowed to opt for the Sheep Pie (basically roast lamb dinner in crisp pastry) with extra roasties!
That concludes our weeks worth of tasty bakes! Now we’re off to stock up that fridge, anyone else!? 🙌
go on – take a Chunk!
