We’ve been making a Chicken and Chorizo pasty for a little while now and it’s a really popular pasty. Winning a Platinum award at Food Drink Devon, which for the savoury baked category, is a real achievement.
This pasty is served for Exeter Chiefs on the match days ..along with our Giant pasty it gets hoovered up by the fans. This Chicken and Chorizo pasty sits alongside best sellers, the Steak pasty and Chunki Roast veg pasty - it’s in the top three.
With such an awesome recipe we thought - why not try to make it into a pie. So we did...and it is really going down well with everyone who’s tasted it...
This Chicken and Chorizo Pie is really something special! We’ve taken the classic chicken pie and given it the Chunk version with a Spanish twist. A real decadent delight, full of ripped chicken, chunks of smoky chorizo, sun blushed tomatoes in a creamy sauce, made with whole grain mustard. Wrapped in our light buttery shortcrust pastry.
Just perfect to serve up to friends and family if you’re entertaining ...or just want to have a fabulous Friday Pieday, this pie is a real crowd pleaser! We’d suggest you serve it up with some green beans and light fluffy herby mash or some steamed broccoli. It’s one of those recipes that can transport you back to Spanish holidays...remember those? It’s like having a flamenco dancer dance on your tongue!
