Box of Homity Pies
Above and beyond delicious!
Our incredibly popular individual Homity Pie has been made even better! We've added in a tasty wholemeal flour to our shortcrust pastry, which has given a real depth of flavour to an already great pie. The judges at the 2018 Great Taste Awards thought so too....awarding it a 2 Star Gold and according to the judges this means 'above & beyond delicious!'
Here are some of the judges comments:-
"A Rustic no nonsense pie - just like your Grandma would make"
"....like a cheese toastie pie. The pastry is crisp & short, this pie has big attitude"
"We all loved the richness of the cheese & satisfying nature of the pie"
By all accounts, this is an Irish delicacy – but it is just as popular in the UK. An open-topped pie made with spud, mature cheddar cheese, onion and a little garlic and a few herbs. Topped with mature West Country cheddar cheese, it's delicious and one of our biggest selling pies.
Suitable for vegetarians - as we use veggie rennet in our cheese.
Potato (36%), onions (18%), extra mature Cheddar Cheese (MILK) (17%), WHEAT flour (WHEAT flour, calcium carbonate, iron, niacin, thiamine), vegetable shortening (RSPO palm, rapeseed oil), water, wholemeal WHEAT flour, salt, garlic powder, vegetable bouillon, black pepper.
For Allergens including Wheat Gluten see ingredients in BOLD CAPITALS. Made in kitchens that may also handle mustard, sesame seed or nuts.
Our pies are an ideal serving for 1 - but you could share...we'll leave that up to you 😉
*Really not suitable for microwaves - the pastry will just go soggy - no one wants soggy bottoms!*
Ready to eat cold - but best heated in an oven for true pasty pleasure!
Remove all packaging and place pasty in a preheated oven.
From Chilled: 180°/ Fan 160° / Gas mark 4 for 20-25 minutes.
From Frozen: 150°/ Fan 130° / Gas mark 2 for 40-50 minutes.
Allow it to rest for 3-4 minutes - and enjoy.
These are a guideline as ovens do tend to differ - Yours may have different settings, so please adjust accordingly.
Storage: Keep in a fridge below 5°
Suitable for home freezing (6 months), defrost in fridge, heat thoroughly and enjoy within 3 days.

This is a seriously tasty pie. With little button mushrooms, cooked off in a little butter and garlic. Then we crumble in some tangy Stilton cheese and all wrapped up in our thin short crust pastry.
Sensational ...providing you like Stilton!

Our pies are an ideal serving for 1 - but you could share...we'll leave that up to you 😉
